How do I care for my gorilla sculpture?
We’ll provide you with some basic guidelines in keeping up the appearance of your artwork. Regular maintenance of your sculpture is a very simple way to ensure its longevity.

Can I check the condition of the auction lots?
Prospective buyers are encouraged to take a closer look at the sculptures during the Goodbye Gorillas weekend on 1-4 November 2019.

Can I come along to see the auction, but not bid?
There is a limited capacity at the auction’s venue and we are trying to raise as much money as possible for our gorilla family, so unfortunately we’re unable to have attendees who aren’t bidding on a sculpture. We will be live streaming the auction in the Drift bar and on social media, which is a great way to join in the excitement!

What is the guide price?
While it is difficult to assess the likely amount that any sculpture may sell for, we believe a bid in excess of £5,000 should secure a sculpture. However, prices realised could be higher and we expect many sculptures to sell for considerably more.

Can I bid online?
The online auction is now live where you can register as an online bidder. Our online partner Hansons Auctioneers will ask you to complete a simple approval process – you will be asked to provide ID and/or company registration details if you are bidding on behalf of a business, or personal identification if bidding as a private individual.

Once you have been approved you can choose to submit your auction bid prior to the auction. Your bid will be included in the live auction on the night. You will be able to continue bidding online at the live auction to increase your bid.

Can I bid over the phone?
Yes, please contact Jane Hardy on jane.hardy@durrell.org for more information.

How much money do you expect to raise?
We expect many of the sculptures to sell for upwards of £5,000 so we hope to raise a significant amount of money for our gorilla family.
